Hey, this is Dr. Todd with Mount Dora Family Chiropractic. Today we want to talk about how to live headache free with the help of our practice. I have a short list here, but just to give you an idea, there is a methodology here. We always first start with a complete health consultation. The goal here is to chat about what’s been going on and to make sure you’re in the right place for relief.
Spinal Thermography
So assuming we can help you, we’re gonna do some preliminary checks just to make sure. Then if we know for sure that we can help you, the next thing we’re gonna do is a detailed exam. There’s a number of things that we’ll do in that exam; we’re gonna look at your spine, we’re gonna do some neurologic testing, and some orthopedic testing. One of the things we’re going to do is also pair Spinal Thermography with these exams. That’s where we’re going to scan you from the base of your neck to the base of the skull. This will give us some indication as to the health and symmetry of the nervous system as it fires off both sides of the spine.
Spinal Imaging
So if you have a misalignment or any damage in the spine we often see an imbalance or disturbance in the nervous system. These disturbances can obviously lead to headaches as well, which is part of this topic today. The other thing we’re going to do is we’re going to look at your posture and range of motion. Those are also indicators that there’s spinal distortion, causing stress in your spine and your nervous system. One of the main things that we do here that really sets us apart and makes us unique is that we utilize what’s known as Cone Beam, CAT scan. Basically, that is what your dentist uses these days to look at your teeth and so on. But we use that technology here to look at your spine and what’s known as your Cranial Cervical Junction. So we use this to find a specific misalignment in the upper neck, you actually have to take very specialized imaging. So your traditional imaging at your medical doctor’s office or your traditional chiropractor, the imaging won’t find the specific misalignment. And if you can’t find it, you can’t fix it the right way for extended pain relief.
Motion X Rays
We’ll also implement motion study X rays. So that’s where we’re actually seeing the spine in different positions. This way you get to see how the spine is moving and functioning, which gives us another layer of information and how to best tackle your symptoms. Then all of this is going to funnel us down to how do we take care of this with a very specific and precise adjustment that you might need to get this problem corrected?
